Aston Martin has achieved its third podium finish of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship this season with a remarkable performance from the Vantage GT3 at the Grand Prix of Long Beach in California. The championship-winning Vantage GT3 proved to be the perfect machine to tackle the tight and bumpy Long Beach street circuit in spite of the contrast from Daytona International Speedway roads where the Heart of Racing crew won a 1-2 result.
Heart of Racing’s dynamic duo of Roman De Angelis and Marco Sørensen finished second, resulting in the duo being second in the GTD points standings with Heart of Racing second in the Teams’ standings and Aston Martin second in the Manufacturers’ Championship. Meanwhile Aston Martin’s other three partner teams contested the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at the 6 Hours of Portimão, in Portugal. Ross Gunn, a Aston Martin works driver, finished fourth in the GTD Pro class in the #23 Heart of Racing car he shared with Alex Riberas, holding fifth in the GTD Pro points.
